Agreement on regulation relocation EMA

In Brussels the European Union has reached an agreement to legislate on the relocation of the European Medicines Agency from London to Amsterdam.

After final decision-making by the Member States and the European Parliament, the amendment comes into effect immediately, and will apply from 30 March 2019. By then the agency has already moved to the Netherlands.

All activities regarding the relocation of EMA to Amsterdam are already in full swing. Since the decision to move EMA to Amsterdam the Netherlands has been communicating regularly about the progress of the renovation of the temporary housing of EMA, and on the construction of the new building. Due to the new regulations, the Netherlands is now also obliged to do so.
